
A 5.2 earthquake occurred in the vicinity of Julian, California on April 14, as reported by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Julian is located around 60 miles northeast of San Diego. Following the initial earthquake, there were some minor aftershocks in the same region. Additionally, a minor 3.3 magnitude earthquake occurred there on April 13, one day prior.
California Governor Gavin Newsom has been alerted to the earthquake. His office stated that the state is coordinating with local authorities to see if there’s damage and to determine if assistance is required.The San Diego National Weather Service said there is no threat of tsunami. Their staff also experienced the earthquake.The Governor’s Office of Emergency Services also reminded individuals to “drop, cover, and hold on” during an earthquake to remain safe.
