Peshawar, PTI. In Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the security forces successfully carried out an operation based on intelligence. During this, the security forces killed 8 terrorists.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, security forces had received intelligence about the presence of terrorists in Zangara area of South Waziristan district. After which an operation was conducted on Wednesday.
During this there was heavy firing between the security forces and the terrorists. Although, 8 terrorists were gunned down, but 2 children who were trapped in the crossfire also died.
The Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement that two children were killed in the exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists. Along with this, two jawans were also injured. Security forces have recovered arms and ammunition from the slain terrorists.
Operation against terrorists increased
In view of increasing terrorist attacks in Pakistan, the government there has intensified operations against terrorists.
Last week, six terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation in Datta Khel area of the tribal North Waziristan district bordering Afghanistan. Along with this, arms and ammunition were also recovered from the slain terrorists.
At that time, the army had told that the terrorists who were killed were being searched by law enforcement agencies in connection with various terrorist incidents.
Arrest of more than thousand terrorists
According to the Express Tribune newspaper, Pakistani security forces have killed over 150 terrorists in 6,921 operations and arrested at least 1,007 terrorists in the last three months.
